pitt women's basketball
pitt women's basketball is on their way to the sweet 16! this is the farthest the panthers have ever advanced in the NCAA tournament. they beat baylor, who won the national championship three years ago, on sunday. its nice to see a local team gain national recognition. i'm glad they have brought in a good head coach who has recruited talent. all of their players graduate on time and bring a positive attitude to the newly revived program.

I was definetly surprised to see that the lady panthers were doing so well in the tournament this year. Hopefully some of their mental toughness will rub off on the men for next years tourny. Its great to take the Big East title in NY finally, but getting knocked out every year in round 2 is becoming pretty frustrating.
ya, i was very surprised how well the pitt women did. they played very well to get as far as they did. And yes, the mens team is so frustrating. Every year they look like there playing good going into the tourney and nothing ever pans out. they need a pure scorer and they just don't have that go to guy.
I defiantely agree and was shocked to see the women make it this far. TO bad they drew stanford in the sweet 16 but hey its still a plus they went that far. I think the program is moving in the right direction.
It was great run for the pitt's womens team, stanford is definatley one of the elite teams in the country and pitt hung tough for a long time. There coach has done a great job and turning the program around. It was great to see a local team do well, i usally dont watch the womens tournament to much, but i watched all of the pitt games and the oklahoma state girls becuase a girl i went to high school with starts for them.
